Sustainable Development Goals

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or Global Goals are a collection of 17 interlinked goals set in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly and are intended to be achieved by the year 2030. They are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all and address global challenges.

Since 2018, the Swarovski Foundation has been committed to aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals. These global goals underpin the strategy of the Swarovski Foundation to deliver our objectives and help drive positive impact. Currently the Swarovski Foundation has identified SDG 4, 8 and 17 to be the most aligned with our mission, crossing all our three strategic pillars in equal measure and method, and carry the strongest relevance to all aspects of our grant-making journey.
The Swarovski Foundation collaborates with charitable organisations (SDG 17), who leverage formal, non-formal and informal educational avenues (SDG 4) to enhance opportunities for beneficiaries, empower individuals to pursue sustainable livelihoods (SDG 8) and address enduring inequalities.

Several other Sustainable Development Goals align with our strategic framework, such as SDG 1 with Equity, SDG 6 with Water, SDG 9 with Creativity, and SDG 10 with our long-term vision. However, we focus on SDG 4, 8, and 17, as they address all three of our priorities and allow us to achieve measurable short and long-term impacts.
