Fashion Council Germany in partnership with the Swarovski Foundation and The Prince‘s Foundation is committed to supporting 6 fashion or textile designers and graduates from Germany by offering a tailor-made program in the areas of sustainability, craftsmanship and innovation that will strengthen thinking processes within fashion and textile design.

The project includes a three-week stay at The Prince‘s Foundation‘s new training facility at Highgrove, part of HRH The Prince of Wales‘ estate in Gloucestershire, England. Participants will be given the chance to explore craft forms in complementary disciplines such as basket weaving, decorative plasterwork and woodcarving along with mentoring sessions that will challenge their thinking and allow them to bridge the gap between fashion and craft. This aims to teach them to be more aware of sustainable, forward-looking and cross-disciplinary production methods that develop a deeper appreciation of slow fashion.

The education program will include a series of six webinars and a three-day intensive workshop in Berlin focusing on Circular Economy and Best Practices to expand their knowledge. During Frankfurt Fashion Week in July 2022, the participants will have the opportunity to showcase their acquired knowledge as well as new experiences with unknown materials.

Stay tuned for the announcement of our 6 winners in March 2022!
