Swarovski and the Swarovski Foundation have collaborated with the United Nations to launch a crystallized pin inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Unveiled at Swarovski on Fifth in New York City, the launch featured a special panel discussion with Brooke Shields, Melissa Fleming, and Jakhya Rahman-Corey, moderated by Monica Sanders, highlighting how creativity can drive progress towards the SDGs.
Swarovski CEO Alexis Nasard said,
“This year we celebrate ‘130 Years of Joy’ honoring the heritage that distinguishes Swarovski and continues to shape our identity today. This is also defined by our commitment to a responsible relationship with people and the planet. This legacy is rooted in the company’s sustainability measures across the value chain, and the philanthropic work of the Swarovski Foundation supporting charitable organizations globally. This exciting collaboration aims to shine a light on our work towards a more equitable and sustainable world by 2030.”

The pin design, based on the SDG color wheel, features selected Swarovski ReCreated™ crystals, mounted on a recycled metal base. 85% of the purchase price of all pins sold at the Swarovski flagship store in New York will be donated to the Swarovski Foundation’s mission to promote sustainable livelihoods through education to reduce inequality and drive progress towards achievement of the SDGs. The crystallized SDG pin is available at the New York flagship store, Swarovski on Fifth, and the United Nations Bookshop at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Swarovski Foundation Director Jakhya Rahman-Corey said,
“We urgently need to take action on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This crystallized SDG pin is more than a symbol—it’s a call to action for everyone. The SDGs are available to all of us, and by wearing the pin, I hope individuals can feel a sense of ownership, share their commitment, and be empowered to be part of the global movement for change. At the Swarovski Foundation, we believe that pursuing ‘SDG Goal 17: partnerships for the goals’ enables collaborative action and tangible impact. That’s why we work alongside global partners—because only together can we create meaningful and lasting progress.”

Last year, The Sustainable Development Goals Report 2024 by the United Nations warned that, with less than one-fifth of targets on track, the world is failing to deliver on the promise of the Sustainable Development Goals.
United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications Melissa Fleming said,
"The Sustainable Development Goals, unanimously adopted by world leaders at the United Nations, serve as a roadmap to a world where everyone thrives in peace, dignity, and equality on a healthy planet. This vision is not an illusion or utopia – it is achievable through collaboration and commitment from all who believe in it. The crystallized SDG pin by Swarovski brings the goals to new audiences. It also supports the Swarovski Foundation’s vital work in harnessing creativity and young talent to drive positive global change. This synergy exemplifies the essence of SDG 17—working together to achieve a better future for all."
