For World Refugee Week, join us as we celebrate the incredible resilience, creativity, and contribution of refugees around the world. To mark this important advocacy moment, Swarovski Foundation partner UNHCR has organised many exciting activities for you to get involved in this week.
World Refugee Week is an opportunity for us all to come together to stand in solidarity with the global refugee community and shines alight on refugees around the world – a growing population of people who have been forced to flee their home countries to escape conflict and persecution. This year’s message is at the heart of Refugee Week - the Right to Seek Safety, whoever you are, wherever you come from and whenever you are forced to flee.
True to this theme, the Ukraine emergency must also reinforce commitment to support the refugees and asylum seekers of other silent and underfunded emergencies globally, which we continue to support through the Swarovski Foundation around the world. UNHCR cannot address the global displacement crisis alone and invite you to get involved any way you can to help build better lives for refugees.
How can you get involved?
- UNHCR Virtual Cookalong
Join UNHCR for their Virtual Cookalong on the 22 June from 5.30 to6.30pm GMT. This free event is open to all and will be a celebration of culture and cuisine led by the wonderful Chef Noor, walking us step-by-step of how to make delicious paratha, vegan stuffed flatbreads. Register here to reserve your place.
- Gallery of the (New) Home Campaign
Take part in UNHCR’s campaign, Gallery of the (New) Home, which explores what home means for all of us by asking refugees and supporters to share an image of what makes home, home? To get involved, keep an eye on UNHCR’s website where you will soon see the gallery exhibits and can share your own photo of what home means to you.
- Use Your Voice and Show Solidarity
Use your voice to engage colleagues, customers, family and your network to stand #WithRefugees. One simple way for you to do this is to participate in UNHCR’s online solidarity campaign. Visit the campaign website where supporters can upload their photo with a solidarity ribbon and show that they stand #withrefugees around the world.
