Global Economic Inclusivity
Nest is a New York based nonprofit that has worked for over 15 years to build a world of greater gender equity and economic inclusion to the handmade economy. Nest's programs range from domestic to global accelerator, fellowship industry standard leading opportunities for the 1000+ artisans from 100+ countries that Nest serves as they further their mission of building a new handworker economy to increase global workforce inclusivity, improve women’s wellbeing beyond factories, and preserve important cultural traditions around the world.
Artisan Accelerator Programme
Nest’s Artisan Accelerator is an intensive accelerator program designed to give promising and engaged artisan businesses the support they need to become vital players in the international marketplace for fashion and home design. Participating accelerator businesses become part of a team of highly motivated like-minded enterprises from around the world, who, under Nest’s direct support, engage in a series of intensive business development programs over the course of a minimum 12-month period.
Environmental Conservation & Cultural Perseveration
The Swarovski Foundation supports Nest to promote conservation in the artisan sector by refining Nest’s Standards for Homes & Small Workshops to be more inclusive of environmental impacts, water use and artisan health considerations. Around the world, time honoured cultural traditions embedded in craftsmanship are in danger of being lost. Nest and the Swarovski Foundation are working together bring greater attention to goods and products that are rooted in technique and tradition, and ensure that they are appropriate recognition and value of handcraft.
